When You Stop Going Hard & Fast

The practice of Orgasmic Meditation follows several principles. Nothing extra, the container, repetition/cultivation, surrendering control… Principles that seem especially relevant right now. In fact, the more I think about it, the more this time of staying at home seems like an OM. We’re confined to a tiny space, stripped of all the “extra” we usually have in our lives, repeating the same actions over and over (groundhog day anyone?), letting go of ideas of how it should be, not being in control of the outcome.

The beauty is, that just like in OM, all of these conditions allow us to see and develop aspects of experience we would usually skim over because we’re going too fast and hard to actually feel them. Have you ever paid this much attention to hand washing before? What about the simple everyday tasks like making breakfast that are now major features.

When we’re willing to drop our agendas and bring our attention and curiosity inside of the 3 millimeter stroke of an OM, worlds are revealed. In OM, we even call the main location of stroking “the home spot”! Here we all are inside of an OM, on our home spot, opening to feel what is.

Of course, the main difference is that with OM, you always have the option to decline. Yet, the truth is that the erotic life begins at our yes. Yes to opening; yes to feeling; yes to the worlds we wouldn’t usually feel, but are simply waiting for our attention to reveal themselves.
